Principle
The floating piston accumulators allow the system to maintain the test fluids at reservoir condition during the experiment. Floating Piston Accumulators (FPA) are basically cylinders equipped with two end plugs and one floating piston, which separates the cylinder into two different chambers:
- A driving chamber that chamber contains the driving fluids (usually distilled water or silicon oil).
- A test chamber that contains the test fluids (namely brine, oil and gas).
